This low top Air Jordan XXX1 comes dressed in a clean Black and White color combination which gives them the Oreo nickname. However there is a bit more. Summertime is always the season of the Air Jordan 11 Low, as Jordan Brand brings the patent leather lowtop back in a number of new and old inspirations alike. The last time that we saw the Air Jordan 11 Low “Barons”, we previewed the grade school size run of the baseball-inspired colorway, but today we finally have a look at the adult size featuring a premium black upper with a unique gradient fade throughout the patent leather mudguard.

Michael Jordan’s first retirement came as a shock to many, especially when the greatest basketball player alive decided to ditch the hardwood for the baseball diamond. Mike signed a deal with the Chicago White Sox minor league affiliated Birmingham Barons, as the Sox muted white and black pinstripes were translated to the Double-A club. While there’s no pinstripes on this retro like in past Barons-referencing pairs, the black upper skips out on the Cordura mesh for a sturdier nubuck upper. The iridescent-like sheen found on the mudguard is similar to the Air Jordan 11 “72-10” but with the added benefit of Metallic Silver throughout.

The Air Jordan 13 Low ‘Brave Blue’ will return in retro form during 2017. This marks the first retro release of the classic color scheme.

Now known as the ‘Brave Blue’ Air Jordan 13 Low, only one other time has this pair released which was the original back in 1998. Then they were dubbed ‘Midnight Navy’ but Jordan Brand will apply the same look for 2017.

The return of this classic Air Jordan 13 Low features a Brave Blue, Black, University Blue and Metallic Silver color scheme. As you can see, Black runs through the base, around the heel and toe while constructed with tumbled leather and suede. Following is Brave Blue which lands on the panel overlays followed by University Blue on the liner. Other details include White on sections of the midsole while Metallic Silver lands on the Jumpman by the collar and on the tongue.

NIKE KOBE A.D. NXT “WOLF GREY”

If the Kobe AD showed us what’s next in the lineage of Kobe Bryant’s signature Nike Basketball line, then the Kobe AD NXT could very well be the future – unique new designs rooted in performance-based tech that are sure to surprise but remain functional nonetheless.

this pair is right in line with with some of Kobe’s past Elite Flyknit tooled predecessors in the price department. That being said, the outsole has completely been redesigned. There are no more hints of Lunar or Natural Motion here, as a solid Nike Zoom base has an updated traction pattern. Nike puts most of their focus on the unique lacing system and woven shroud overlay with a drawstring tightening system sure to polarize. Contrast Kobe branding hits the heels to match the bold flipped midsole Swoosh. While this Wolf Grey option is pretty minimalist in terms of colorway, we’d love to see Nike Basketball add some patterns or graphics to that shroud for some DeMar DeRozan PEs come playoff time.

Kobe Bryant had a number of advantages when he dominated the game of basketball. For starters, he was physically gifted and trained upwards of 6 hours a day in the off-season, obsessing over the most minute of details to become one of the game’s greats. But perhaps the advantage Kobe favored the most was his mentality which Nike Basketball constantly tries to emulate through sleek, aggressive perfection in shoe form. That’s what we get with the strange yet notable new Nike Kobe AD NXT created by longtime Kobe collaborator and design extraordinaire Eric Avar in an attempt to create a low profile, yet highly responsive silhouette.

The Kobe AD NXT features an unconventional lacing structure meant to give ultimate lockdown support for each foot to go along with a lightweight Flyknit upper. Think of this as the Elite version to Kobe’s twelfth signature sneaker, but with a completely redesigned midsole unit as well. A drop in insole features Lunarlon and a Zoom Air bag. As for that Flyknit shroud, it features a subtle circular knit in an attempt to reference the lotus flower in an homage to the theme of rebirth. This is Kobe and Avar’s reimagining of the entire Black Mamba line for a post-retirement reign.
