Nike’s Mamba Day — an annual event that celebrates the anniversary of Kobe Bryant‘s final NBA game — is set to be full of special releases this year, and Kyrie Irving‘s Nike Kyrie 5 will be joining in on the festivities via a new “Chaos” makeup.
The Joker-inspired sneaker’s most noticeable design feature was its dark blue and purple patent leather quarter, and that’s impeccably imparted to the Kyrie, appearing on both the tongue and the throat’s signature Venus flytrap overlay. The white mesh base is then accented by volt green detailing on the Swoosh and red speckled print that graces both the grey heel clip and the white midsole. The fusion of stars past and present is then made even more abundantly clear via the hybrid combined logos on the tongue, and a different signature on the heel of each foot: Kyrie’s graces the left shoe, while KB’s appears on the right. A volt green outsole with a singular red panel then completes the look
